The story was told about a multi-millionaire, who once did a demonstration that shows the importance of capacity building in your quest for financial freedom.

The man held two deflated balloons, one substantially larger than the other. He explained that in this demonstration “air” represented money and each balloon represented a different person. He then proceeded to blow up (put money into) the smaller balloon (person) to the maximum. He tied it up at about 6 inches.

He then blew maximum air, (money) into the larger balloon (person) and tied it up at about 12 inches. He then asked, what’s the difference between these two “people”? The obvious answer was that the bigger balloon (person) can hold a lot more air (money) than the smaller balloon (person) without busting.

The lesson was clear “your wealth can only grow to the extent you do!”

Wealth is Capacity Determined

“For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.  And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.” Matthew 24:14-15

God will only give you what you have the capacity to manage. He won’t give you what will kill you. So, to qualify for more of His blessings first build a bigger capacity to match your desire.

“And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.” Deut.7:22

Another version says: “Little by little he will drive out these nations as you advance. You will not be able to destroy them all at once, for, if you did, the number of wild animals would increase and be a threat to you.” Deut.7:22

Though given the land of promise, Israel’s possession of it would be “little by little” (gradual). God will not give what we do not have capacity to manage or maintain.

Wealth has Weight

Every level of blessing carries with attendant responsibility. More money means more responsibility- more challenges.

People only see the glory and glamour that go with being wealthy. But the truth is that there is the work side to being wealth. The question is “are you well equipped and prepared for this other side of being wealthy?”

“………..worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” 2 Cor.4:17

Glory has weight! Wealth has weight!

This is why you need to grow and build capacity, not just to acquire wealth but much more to manage and perpetuate wealth.

Build Capacity to Handle Money

Listen friend this is what I’m saying “If you refuse to work on yourself, and build capacity to handle money, you might hinder God from blessing you to the dimensions He has planned for you from the foundation of the world.” God won’t want His blessings in your life to become sources of pain and sorrow.

“……..and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.”Pro.1:32

Please remember, God will always bless us according to our level of ability and capability to handle His blessings. “And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability

To change any situation, we first have to change ourselves. Investing in yourself is the best investment you will ever make.

Self-improvement and personal enrichment will dramatically improve your effectiveness. It’s said that “luck favours the prepared mind.” I believe that life favours the prepared mind.”
