Peak performers or high achievers are people who without fail turn out outstanding results in diverse areas of human endevour; they are essentially everyday people who have developed certain positive attributes which enable them to accomplish remarkable results.

One of such attributes is the ability to create positive mental pictures of themselves.

Self-image is probably the most important part of your personality. It precedes and predicts your performance in almost everything you do.

Peak performers have healthy self-image.

Self –image is about the idea, conception, or mental image one has of oneself. It’s about how you see yourself……your opinion of yourself, the value you place on yourself and how you believe others see you. These self-images can either be positive or negative, good or bad.

A negative self-image will make you doubt your capabilities and ideas, while a positive self-image will enhance your confidence in your thoughts and actions.

Your mental picture of yourself has a powerful effect on your behavior. The person you see is the person you will be. It is mentality that defines reality.

Peak performers are people with positive, healthy self-image. Consequently, they have strong faith in their abilities and view themselves as valuable individuals. This is a major prerequisite in your pursuit of financial freedom.

It’s said that confidence is the backbone of success. When your confidence goes up, your competence goes up at the same time. Simply put, when your image improves, your performance improves and your results are excellent.

The world pays excellent rewards for excellent performance, average rewards for average performance and poor rewards for poor performance. Your goal is to receive excellent rewards for the investment of your physical, mental and emotional energies in all of your undertakings.

Great financial reward answers to people who perform well in their jobs, and positive self image will help you do your job wonderfully well.

The starting point for a productive and prosperous life is a healthy self-image.

Negative self-image is an enemy

Please understand that as individuals, we will consistently act and perform according to the way we see ourselves. Poor self-image, more commonly known as an inferiority complex will rob you of the necessary confidence that should enhance your performance in your task. And once you under perform in your task, you start to lose ground to financial lack and poverty.

“You cannot consistently perform in a manner that is inconsistent with the way you see yourself.” Zig Ziglar

There is an account in the Bible of some twelve guys who went out to spy on a city. Ten of these guys sold out their great and colourful destiny as a nation and people to poor self-images….they saw themselves as grasshoppers and unable to take delivery of God’s great plan for them.

“But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.  And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.  And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Num 13:31-33

God had no choice but to confirm what they saw of themselves and said with their mouths

“Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you” Num 14:28

Also hear the great man of God, Gideon describe himself. God saw him as a mighty man of valour but he saw himself as the least of all people.

“ And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.  And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” Jdg 6:12-15

The question is,  how do  you see or perceive  yourself?…..what’s your assessment of your ability?

The need to believe in oneself, is a key factor in personal performance. Believing in yourself will impact upon you the necessary confidence that would position you to effectively use your God given ability. Once your ideas, opinions and belief about yourself changes, great things will begin to happen through you.

You need to believe in yourself and your ability to do excellent work. You’re not a dummy; no one is smarter or better than you. People are just smarter or better in different areas at different times.  You have the mind of Christ…..the mind behind the creation of the world resides in you. The truth is that you have more potential than you could ever use in your entire lifetime.

“For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” 1Co 2:16

All improvement in your life will come from changing your beliefs, opinions and ideas about yourself and your possibilities. Listen, if you project a positive self-image, people will be more likely to see you as a positive and capable personThis will advance the fulfillment of your financial dreams.

Surprisingly, your self-image can be very different from how the world sees you. Some people who outwardly seem to have it all (intelligence, looks, personal and financial success) may have a bad self-image. On the contrary, others who have had a very difficult life and multiple hardships may have a very positive self-image.

Positive self-image s a choice

The good news is that we can choose the way we see ourselves. The Bible likens the word of God to a mirror.

“For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” Jam 1:23-24

The Bible says so much about who you are. Check out who you’re in the mirror of the word of God.

  • God says you’re a special treasure – Deuteronomy 7:6
  • You’re the salt of the earth and light of the world – Matthew 5:13,14
  • A person of capacity and capability to impact the world 1 John 5:4

Never allow your challenging circumstances to define you.

Never confuse failure in a project with failure in life.

Never take your present situation for your lot in Christ

You are a success and an asset to the word.

You deserve to be rich and wealthy.

You must accept yourself to move forward in life.

Man, though was born to win, but through a lifetime, as a result of our negative society…… the need to constantly deal with negative individuals, he is conditioned to lose. You must not allow this to be your lot in life.

The entire water of the sea can’t sink a ship unless it gets inside the ship. Similarly, negativity of the world can’t put you down unless you allow it to get inside you.

Therefore, safeguard your heart with all diligence.

Please note, you need a sound and  healthy self-image to enjoy a sound financial destiny.

God bless you real good.
